Comedy legends Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence have officially become in-laws after their children tied the knot.
On Thursday’s episode of the “Jennifer Hudson Show,” Murphy confirmed that his 35-year-old son, Eric, and Lawrence’s daughter Jasmin, 29, “ran off and got married” two weeks ago.
“Everybody was making their big wedding plans, and then they decided they wanted to do something quiet with just the two of them,” Murphy revealed.
He also joked that Lawrence doesn’t have “to pay for the big wedding now” thanks to their kids’ last-minute decision.
Eric and Jazmin first confirmed they were dating in July 2021, and announced their engagement in November of last year.
In an interview with CBS Mornings last summer, Murphy said he approved of the relationship and talked about what he expects from the gene pool in regard to any future grandchildren.
“If they ever get married and have a child, I’m expecting the child to be funny,” he said.
Murphy and Lawrence have a long-standing history, as the actors starred together in both the 1992 film “Boomerang” and 1999 comedy “Life.”
