“The hardest part of a great party is knowing when to say goodnight,” she wrote on an Instagram story Friday. “I have decided to leave SNL. I am immensely grateful to Lorne for the opportunity; to my castmates, the writers, and the crew for their brilliance, support, and friendship.”

Nwodim continued: “Week after week on that stage taught me more than I could have ever imagined, and I will carry those memories (and that laughter) with me always now invite me to your weddings please!!”

The Baltimore native joined the Lorne Michaels-created series in 2018 and has portrayed memorable characters such as disruptive wedding guest Lisa from Temecula, California, and her stand-up comedian alter ego Miss Eggy.

She also went viral with her impersonation of Dionne Warwick and has also taken on the likenesses of conservative political pundit Candace Owens and former White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.

“I like playing people that are strong and wrong,” she told The Hollywood Reporter in a 2023 profile.

Nwodim is one of five recently announced departures ahead of Season 51 of “SNL.” Cast members Devon Walker, Emil Wakim and Michael Longfellow announced their exits from “SNL” in August, with longtime star Heidi Gardner reportedly throwing in the towel, too.
