Ellen DeGeneres is denying widespread reports that her new U.K. home flooded last week on the heels of permanently relocating to England after Donald’s Trump’s reelection.
The 66-year-old Emmy winner clarified the situation Sunday in an Instagram post that paid tribute to wife and “best friend” Portia de Rossi on their 20th anniversary.
“P.S. for those of you concerned, our UK farmhouse did NOT flood,” wrote the former talk show host.
TMZ reported Saturday that DeGeneres and the “Arrested Development” star’s new 43-acre home in the Cotswolds, about 100 miles northwest of London, had flooded amid Storms Bert and Conall.
The couple — who previously had to evacuate their home in Montecito, Calif. amid flooding in January 2023 — moved to the U.K. in the days after Trump won his second term in the White House. DeGeneres and de Rossi were among Vice President Harris’ starry campaign donors.
Insiders at the time told TMZ the “disillusioned” couple wanted to “get the hell out” of the States following the election.
DeGeneres largely left the limelight in 2020 amid toxic workplace allegations related to her eponymous talk show, which ended two years later. DeGeneres said in July that she’d be “done” after “Ellen’s Last Stand…Up Comedy Tour” and her latest Netflix special, “For Your Approval.”
