Ellen DeGeneres’ Montecito home sells after U.K. move

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi’s Montecito home has sold for more than $5 million, just over four months after the couple moved to the U.K., following President Trump’s reelection.

The Emmy-winning former talk show host, 67, and “Arrested Development” alum, 52, received a $5.2 million offer for the 2-bedroom, 2-bath California abode, a hefty turnaround considering they purchased the home for $2.9 million in 2021, according to TMZ.

The sale even came in above the stars’ reported $4.99 million asking price for the 1,691-square-foot beachside digs.

In November, DeGeneres and de Rossi decamped across the pond, where the outlet reports they’d already purchased property prior to Trump’s latest successful bid at the Oval Office.

An insider at the time told TMZ that DeGeneres and de Rossi were “very disillusioned” with the election results and determined to “get the hell out” of dodge.

Weeks later, as she was celebrating her 20th anniversary with wife and “best friend” de Rossi, DeGeneres said, “our UK farmhouse did NOT flood,” contrary to reports.

TMZ had reported that two storms had flooded the couple’s 43-acre Cotswolds home, about 100 miles northwest of London, which would have been a strange coincidence.

The couple previously had to evacuate the Montecito home in January 2023 due to flooding.
