Rapper Eminem is officially a grandfather, as his daughter Hailie Jade Mathers has given birth to her first child.
Mathers and her husband Evan McClintock confirmed the news in an Instagram post on Friday saying, “happy due date//3 weeks earthside little e,” she captioned the post paired with photos of the newborn.
Mathers also shared the baby boy’s name, Elliot Marshall McClintock — clearly a nod to his famous grandfather, whose real name is Marshall Bruce Mathers III.
The Grammy and Oscar-winning rapper broke the news of his daughter’s pregnancy in October, sharing footage of the moment he found out in his music video “Temporary.”
In the clip, the influencer and podcaster gave her dad a Detroit Lions Jersey that had the word “grandpa” written on it. She also presented him with scans from her ultrasound. Eminem, visibly emotional, teared up at the news.
Shortly after, Mathers revealed the sex of the baby on an episode her podcast, “Just a Little Shady,” joking that her son is her “dream podcast guest.”
In the episode, Mathers popped a balloon to reveal blue confetti. “When we found out, Evan was like, ‘They’re going to hunt with me,’” Mathers said. “‘They’re going to go golfing with me. I’ve got a little buddy.’”
“It’s so weird to think about, I can’t even wrap my head around it,” Mathers said. “I have to meet this human that I’ve created. What’s he gonna look like? What’s he gonna, what’s his personality gonna be [like]? It’s strange but super exciting.”
The 29-year-old is the eldest child of Eminem and his ex-wife, Kim Scott. They also share daughters Alaina Scott and Stevie Laine Scott.
