A former corrections officer in upstate New York was sentenced Tuesday to one to three years in state prison after pleading guilty to more than 120 sex crimes involving children.
Daniel Dworkin, 45, of Valley Cottage, admitted to uploading to his Google Drive dozens of images and videos depicting sexual performances by girls under the age of 16 between February and June 2024, according to the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office.
Dworkin was arrested in November 2025 while on his way to work at the Rockland County Jail, ABC NY reported at the time.
After initially pleading not guilty, the 18-year veteran of the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office later pleaded guilty to the entire indictment involving child pornography — 64 counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child and 64 of possessing a sexual performance by a child — the DA’s office said.
“The defendant pleaded guilty to all counts and accepted the judge’s offer of one to three years in state prison,” District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh II said in a September news release.
“This sentence was not agreed to by The People and we believe it falls short of holding a predator fully accountable,” he said, adding that the prosecutions had sought the maximum sentence of up to seven years.
Dworkin was officially sentenced Tuesday in Rockland County Court to one to three years, News 12 Hudson Valley reported.
He will also be required to register as a sex offender after he’s released from custody, officials said.
