Tiffany is getting the Kate Bush treatment.
The ’80s pop star has seen a resurgence in popularity after her hit 1987 song, “I Think We’re Alone Now,” was featured in “Stranger Things” Season 5, Volume 1 upon its release on Nov. 26.
However, the singer had no idea that her track was being used in the final season of the popular Netflix series until she returned home to Nashville for the winter and saw that her phone was “blowing up” with text messages from her excited friends.
“I didn’t know that that was going to happen,” the mononymous Tiffany, whose full name is Tiffany Renee Darwish, exclusively told The Post. “I’m truly a fan of the show. Being home, it’s been on my bucket list to get caught up on all my TV shows.”
“This was my winter plan,” she continued. “Then all of a sudden, my phone started literally blowing up with all of my friends going, ‘Oh my God, you’re on Stranger Things!’”
“I was like, ‘I did not know!’” Tiffany, 54, laughed. “But what a highlight at the end of the year for me. It’s one of my favorite shows. So very, very, very cool.”
The scene in question comes during Episode 3 of “Stranger Things” Season 5, when Holly Wheeler (Nell Fisher) listens to “I Think We’re Alone Now” while trapped in Vecna’s mysterious dream world.
Holly receives a cassette tape as a gift from Henry Creel (Jamie Campbell Bower) when she opens the mailbox to find both a stereo and a copy of Tiffany’s 1987 self-titled album.
After dancing around the Creel house, baking a cake and trying on different dresses during an upbeat montage with “I Think We’re Alone Now” blasting in the background, Holly suddenly stops and addresses Tiffany directly.
“Of course, I watched it, and I love the theme,” the “Could’ve Been” singer shared. “I love her dancing, I love her in the kitchen. I love that she was talking to me: ‘Well, what do you know? You’re just a pop star.’”
“Yeah, it’s kind of spawned out a new little cameo thing for me where I’m going to be a pop star,” Tiffany joked. “Come on, join me on Cameo. I thought I was more than just a pop star.”
“I Think We’re Alone Now” was first released by Tommy James and the Shondells in 1967.
Tiffany, at just 15, covered the bubblegum pop song and released her own version 20 years later. It went on to spend two weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Similar to Kate Bush, who regained popularity after her 1985 hit “Running Up That Hill” was featured in Season 4 of “Stranger Things” three years ago, new generations of fans are now falling in love with Tiffany.
“Wow #1 on Shazam with ITWAN…This girl is THRILLED…and truly touched…what a way to end 2025!” the beloved pop star wrote on Instagram after “I Think We’re Alone Now” topped the music app on Dec. 1.
But Tiffany didn’t always want to record the hit track, and she revealed how the song ended up on her self-titled debut album during an interview with The Guardian published months before the latest “Stranger Things” season’s release.
“I didn’t want to record ‘I Think We’re Alone Now’ when I first heard it,” she told the outlet in July. “It was dancey, and I worried that it wasn’t going to show that I could actually sing. I was 14, and I had this vision of me being Stevie Nicks or Janis Joplin.”
“Then, one afternoon, I had my girlfriends over to do homework,” the “All This Time” singer continued. “I put it on and they immediately started dancing around. I realized there is something about this song that makes people feel good. Still today, it never lets me down.”
While “I Think We’re Alone Now” being featured in “Stranger Things” was a “highlight” at the end of Tiffany’s year, the singer also revealed that she has some new and exciting projects coming in 2026.
Next year will see the release of her highly anticipated cookbook, “POPLife,” which will be released in the spring and include 55 recipes inspired by her 1980s-era music and pop culture.
The cookbook was created in collaboration with Chef Alicia Shevetone and is a modern take on ’80s-inspired dishes, as seen in behind-the-scenes photos, and will be released alongside some new music from the “Shadows” artist.
Proceeds connected to the cookbook, meanwhile, will go to a charity Tiffany has been involved with for nearly 10 years.
“But the album now coming out with the cookbook is going to be specially for raising money for the Children’s Miracle Network,” she told The Post. “So it’s a charity album, but you’re going to get some great music. It’s really cool music.”
“I’m excited about some of the charity events that we can pair with that music and just have fun with it,” Tiffany concluded. “I think for 2026, my theme is: Go for it.”
