Exclusive | How ‘Sinners’ cast bonded during downtime on set while filming bloody vampire horror

They had a bloody good time.

“Sinners” actress Wunmi Mosaku revealed how the cast bonded on set while walking the red carpet at the 2026 Golden Globes on Sunday night.

“We did game nights. We did dinners. We were in each other’s trailers, playing uno and spades,” Mosaku, 39, told The Post.

“We just hung out at that Juke Joint, it was like a theater set. We just sat together all day, every day,” she went on. “Sometimes, we would warm up together and dance on a Friday, for sure.”

Written and directed by Ryan Coogler and starring Michael B. Jordan, 38, “Sinners” won the Golden Globe for “Box Office Achievement.” The vampire movie grossed over $300 million worldwide – which is especially notable when it wasn’t based on a pre-existing IP.

Set in the 1930s Mississippi, the movie follows twins “Smoke” and “Stack” (both played by Jordan) as they put together a “Juke Joint” (a venue with dancing, drinking, and merriment), only to get beset by vampires. Mosaku played Annie, Smoke’s estranged wife. Hailee Steinfeld played Mary, Stack’s love interest. The cast also included Delroy Lindo and Miles Caton. The latter won the “Best Young Actor” Critics Choice Award on Jan. 4.

Mosaku revealed her second pregnancy at the Golden Globes. Her “Sinners” co-star Steinfeld, 29, who is married to Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, 29, also showed off her baby bump.

The Nigerian-British actress told The Post that the “Sinners” set was family-oriented.

“My family came to set. Ryan’s family came to set, our first [assistant director’s] mom and family home set. It was a good time.”

Coogler’s wife, Zinzi, also produced the movie, and spoke onstage when the cast and crew accepted their trophy.

“We created a very special community and family making this film, grinding every day while many of us were away from our own families at home,” Zinzi said. “Thank you for pouring into this story. You are all masters of your craft at an elite level and it was an honour to share this space with you.”

Taking the mic after his wife, Ryan said, “I just want to thank the audience for showing up. This movie was made by hundreds of people. We don’t always be working in the film business, wear tuxedos, and look glammed up — it’s usually a grind. We’ll be wearing like, performance fishing gear and being in the swamps!”

In addition to “Box Office Achievement,” the film won a Globe for original score. However, it lost “best motion picture — drama” to “Hamnet” and Coogler lost “best director” and “best screenplay” to “One Battle After Another” director/ screenwriter Paul Thomas Anderson.

Jordan also lost “best actor in a motion picture – drama” to Wagner Moura, who made history as the first Brazilian actor to win, for “The Secret Agent.”

Mosaku also told The Post that playing Annie in “Sinners” taught her, “To really not doubt myself. To keep pouring into myself and believing in myself and tapping into my power.”

The “Loki” actress added, “It was a very encouraging set. They made me feel like I could do anything and everything.”

The 2026 Oscar nominations will be announced Jan. 22, and “Sinners” is expected to pick up several nominations.
