The “KPop Demon Hunters” sequel is looking “Golden” already.
Directors/writers Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans and producer Michelle Wong teased the follow-up to the hit animated musical film in an exclusive interview with The Post on the 2026 Golden Globes red carpet.
“More Joel Kim Booster,” Appelhans promised of the sequel, expected to be released in 2029.
“We love working with him,” Kang added of Booster, who voiced Romance Saj in the movie. “He’s such a joy just riffing together on that sound booth. It was really fun. So, would love to work with him again.”
Appelhans also joked about which actor they’d like to recruit to star in the sequel.
“We’re going to cast Noah Wyle because he rescued Michelle at the Critics Choice,” the director said. “So he’s in.”
Last week, Page Six exclusively reported that “The Pitt” star, 54, bandaged up Wong after she fell and got injured leaving the Critics Choice Awards at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Calif. on Jan. 4.
Wong wound up with “two bloody gashes” from her spill, a spy claimed, adding that Wyle jumped into action in his tux and applied a bandage to the animation producer.
“KPop Demon Hunters” became a smash hit after it dropped on Netflix last summer, even winning over A-list celebrities.
“That James Cameron shout out was really incredible,” Kang told The Post at the Golden Globes, referring to the “Avatar” director’s public praise for the animated film. “Even my mom texted me about it and that’s how I heard about it.”
Wong added, “Andy Samberg. He went on Jimmy Kimmel and was actually there to promote his movie and he went on to promote our movie and talk about how much he loved it and that he cried.”
The “KPop Demon Hunters” bosses also dished on why they think the film resonated across the world.
“We made the movie in a way that we hoped would speak to a global audience,” said Appelhans. “We’re very inspired by the way music is able to do that. So it’s kind of like confirmation of how that works and what art can do when you pull it off. It’s amazing.”
Kang chalked the film’s success up to its “message of just confronting your inner demons and knowing that they’re there, but then rising above them every day.”
“I think that’s something that everybody can relate to,” she added. “It’s just scary to really show your true self anywhere. And so I think a 6 year old or a 60 year old can relate to that.”
“KPop Demon Hunters” won two Golden Globes, for Best Animated Feature and for Best Original Song for “Golden.”
