“Family Matters” star Darius McCrary is sitting in a San Diego jail after being arrested near the U.S.-Mexico border on an out-of-state felony charge.
According to online records, the 49-year-old actor was taken into custody by U.S. Border Patrol on Sunday in what they described as a “fugitive arrest.” Under California Penal Code, the designation applies to people wanted for a serious crime in another state.

McCrary was booked into the San Diego Central Jail and is currently being held without bail. He’s scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
While the exact details of the alleged crime and arrest remain unclear, a rep for McCrary told TMZ that the warrant stems from a case in Michigan involving a missed court appearance related to child support payments.
McCrary was previously arrested in 2015 and 2023 for failing to pay child support.
He and his ex-wife, Tammy Brawner, with whom he shares a daughter, finalized their acrimonious divorce in 2019 after a two-year legal battle. Under the terms of their settlement, McCrary was ordered to pay $1,366 per month in child support, People reported at the time.
Throughout their divorce and the years that followed, the two have hurled abuse allegations back and forth, with both having been granted restraining orders against each other.
