Fire damages 6 cars at MetLife Stadium during Giants game

Two cars became “fully engulfed” in flames, ultimately damaging four other vehicles, in a MetLife Stadium parking lot as the Giants battled the Philadelphia Eagles Thursday night.

The fire was spotted shortly before 9 p.m. in lot 26, less than a hour after the game got underway, according to New Jersey State Police.

“Based on an initial investigation, the fire does not appear to be suspicious in nature,” police said in a statement obtained by the Daily News.

No injuries were reported. All the cars involved were said vacant when authorities arrived to the scene.

The cause of the fire remained unclear on Friday.

Following that incident, troopers also responded to a pedestrian being struck by a tow truck in parking lot F when the Giants game ended, according to the Daily Voice. The victim reportedly suffered minor injuries.

The Giants surprised many football fans by defeating their conference rival 34-17 for their second win of the season. They’ve so far lost four games.
