Five men were injured, four of them stabbed, in a 20-person brawl spanning two towns, Suffolk County Police said Monday.
The fifth person suffered blunt-force wounds, police noted. Three people were arrested and charged with rioting. Police did not rule out further charges. Police had not named the suspects or victims by Monday morning or released the conditions of those with stab wounds, all of whom were taken to hospitals.
The fight broke out in a West Islip sports bar at about 3 p.m. Sunday, police told WPIX-TV. A half-hour later it had migrated to a gas station in Lindenhurst, two towns over and five miles away. There, the 20 opponents faced off in a “physical altercation,” police told Newsday.
Officers caught up with the participants at the gas station, where First Squad detectives charged them with rioting in the second degree, Newsday reported.
No further information was available Monday morning.
