Former Giant Sam Beal has been missing for 7 months: family

The family of former Giants Sam Beal wants help finding the missing defensive back who disappeared in July.

“Tomorrow makes it 7 months since we’ve last heard from or seen my brother,” his older sister Essence Zhane posted on Facebook Monday.

Zhane said her family is out of ideas and in need of clues, though she was reluctant to offer information about why he might have vanished in Virginia after borrowing his girlfriend’s car to drive to a job where he never arrived.

“I’m not here to answer a bunch of why’s and how’s I just need this to land in the right direction to gain some form of answers or closure,” she wrote. “I’m a Big sister and I need my brother to know that We Love You and miss you and this has been a heavy feeling for months to carry around.”

Beal played cornerback for Big Blue from 2018 to 2021 after being drafted out of Western Michigan University. The physical 6-foot-1 defender opted out of the 2020 NFL season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Beal also faced  gun charges that June to which he pleaded guilty in a deal that allowed him to later have the matter expunged.

He was waived from the active roster in 2021 and signed that December to the Giants’ practice squad, but was released 10 days later.

A missing persons bulletin said the last person to hear from Beal was his girlfriend, who spoke to him by phone last summer. She says he told her he was headed home from Virginia Beach, where his girlfriend’s vehicle was located. Authorities found Beal’s shoes and socks on the car. They said there was sand on the floor.

Cops said the 29-year-old former NFL player had with him a wallet and the clothes he was wearing.
