A Staten Island school bus driver and four children were rushed to the hospital Friday morning after their bus collided with a box truck driven by a man having a medical episode, police said.
The truck was driving along Victory Blvd. near the Dr. Martin Luther King Expressway in Bulls Head just before 7 a.m. when the driver had a medical episode near Canterbury Ave., cops said.
The passenger in the truck pulled the emergency brake in a panic, sending the vehicle into a spin before it struck the bus, cops said.
EMS rushed four children and the truck driver to area hospitals for treatment. The children’s injuries were minor.
The condition of the truck driver was not immediately known.
Two others involved in the crash refused medical attention.
