A friend of the jailed Miami high-flying Alexander brothers turned himself in Wednesday to face charges he held a woman down while they raped her in 2016.
Ohad Fisherman, 39, cut his Japan honeymoon short to surrender at the Miami-Dade County Courthouse and was charged with sexual battery by multiple perpetrators for allegedly restraining one of the brothers’ victims while the twins raped her.
Investigators say that Alon Alexander lured a woman to a fake New Year’s Eve barbecue on Dec. 31, 2016, by sending her photos of a packed gathering. But she arrived to find just Fisherman, two maids and the twin brothers, Alon and Oren Alexander.
According to the woman, the twins took her into a bedroom, where Fisherman kneed her in the back and held her down on the bed by the arms while the twins took turns raping her, the Miami Herald reported.
She was then forced to have sex with Fisherman, told to take a shower and forbidden to tell anyone what had happened when they finally allowed her to leave, according to Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle.
Fisherman denied the allegations but did not enter a plea. He was accompanied in court by his wife and mother-in-law, who together put up $260,000 in collateral on his $25,000 bond. A dual U.S.-Israeli citizen, he surrendered both passports. Though released on bail, he must wear an ankle monitor.
“Mr. Fisherman is anxious to resolve this and to vindicate his name,” defense attorney Jeffrey Sloman told reporters.
The 37-year-old twins and their older brother, Tal Alexander, 38, have all been in custody in Florida since their indictment last week on multiple state and federal sexual assault and trafficking charges filed in Miami and Manhattan. Tal Alexander is in federal custody, while the twins are in Miami-Dade County Jail.
In addition to a slew of federal charges filed in New York alleging they drugged and violently raped dozens of women for years, the twins face state sexual battery felony charges in Florida in relation to three separate alleged assaults between 2016 and 2021. Fisherman is named as an accomplice in one of those but has not been accused in any of the brothers’ other crimes.
