George Clooney open to reunion with Noah Wyle on ‘The Pitt’

George Clooney said he’d love to team up with fellow “ER” alum Noah Wyle on medical drama “The Pitt,” adding that he’d jump at the chance “in a heartbeat.”

When asked whether he’d like to “get back in the E.R,” the Oscar winner expressed his interest in joining the series led by Wyle.

“I haven’t talked to him about being on the show because it is his show,” Clooney told Entertainment Tonight at the “Jay Kelly” premiere. “I don’t want to interrupt. But I am deeply proud of him, if I’m allowed to be proud of him.”

He continued, “Because what a beautiful show it is and what a great success it has been. And what a fun thing to have him continuing on in the tradition.”

Clooney, who played Doug Ross opposite Wyle’s John Carter, was a part of “ER’s” original cast starring on the long running series from 1994 to 1999. Clooney left the show after season 5 but came back for brief appearances in season 6 and the series’ finale.

After leaving the medical drama, the only time Clooney returned to TV, other than for his Nespresso ad spots, was for Hulu’s “Catch-22” in 2019.

The 64-year-old actor previously shared his admiration for the show and his former co-star in June during an appearance on “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” calling the series “so good.”

“He is just the most honorable, talented young man, I get to say, because I’m an old man,” Clooney said. “And I cannot be happier for his success on this show. The show is just a beautiful show, and he does just a great job with it.”

“The Pitt,” which was renewed for a second season just one month after the series debuted in January, won two Emmys this year including outstanding drama series and outstanding lead actor in a drama series.

Season 2 of “The Pitt” will premiere in January on HBO.
