Giants working out WR Samori Toure with Malik Nabers done for year

The Giants’ search to reinforce their receiving corps with Malik Nabers (torn ACL) done for the year starts immediately.

The team is working out free agent wide receiver Samori Toure on Friday, a source told the Daily News.

Toure, 27, made 13 career catches for 160 yards and a touchdown in 22 games for the Green Bay Packers in 2023-24.

He provides a deep threat: He made receptions of 37, 35 and 32 yards for the Packers. Then he spent last season on the Chicago Bears’ practice squad.

Player workouts typically happen in groups, so it’s likely that Toure is one of at least a few players the Giants are planning to evaluate on Friday.

Regardless of who the Giants work out and sign, no one is going to replace Nabers’ production. It’s going to take a group effort.

The Giants have Darius Slayton, Wan’Dale Robinson, Beaux Collins, Jalin Hyatt and Gunner Olszewski on their active roster, plus veteran Lil’ Jordan Humphrey, Ihmir Smith-Marsette and Dalen Cambre on their practice squad.

Humphrey seems like the likely candidate to be elevated to the gameday roster in Sunday’s Week 5 road trip to the New Orleans Saints (0-4).

But Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll have to continue adding talent so Jaxson Dart and the Giants (1-3) can at least create the threat of pushing the ball downfield to take pressure off their rookie quarterback and the running game.
