A “giddy” Travis Kelce is breaking his silence after announcing his “exciting” engagement to Taylor Swift.
The Super Bowl-winning Kansas City Chiefs tight end opened up on Wednesday’s episode of “New Heights” about the afterglow of proposing to the Grammy winner, both 35.
“It’s been really fun telling everyone who I’m going to be spending the rest of my life with,” Kelce told big brother and former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason.
The younger Kelce confirmed that things have been “exciting, awesome” since letting slip the news to the world last Tuesday.
“This was my first time introducing Taylor as my fiancée to a few of my teammates, so yeah, that was pretty cool,” he said of a recent game the couple attended.
“Don’t you get giddy saying it?” asked Jason.
“I did, yeah, I still get giddy,” said Travis. “It’s exciting times. Still fresh.”
He advised that other fans who might be looking to pop the question just “gotta know your gal” and while other people’s proposals might “get the creative juices going,” ultimately lovers have to forge their own path.
“You can’t let how somebody else does it make you feel like you need to do it that way,” said Kelce. “I would just say, know your partner, know who you’re doing it for and do it for the right reasons. Everything else will be beautiful.”
He also teased that a bachelor party might not be in the cards, noting he hasn’t “thought about it one second.”
The happy couple shared engagement photos in a joint Instagram post on Aug. 26, captioned: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
Kelce’s dad, Ed, subsequently shared that the proposal happened about two weeks prior, which would place it just before Swift’s record-breaking podcast debut on “New Heights.”
