A 16-year-old girl was shot in the head inside a downtown Manhattan building Thursday afternoon, cops said.
Police responded to the scene of an assault around 3:35 p.m. at Stanton and Ridge Sts. on the Lower East Side where they found the teenage girl conscious and alert, with a gunshot wound to the head.
It was unclear what sparked the shooting.
EMS transported the victim to Bellevue Hospital where she was in stable condition.
