Hailey Bieber denies Rhode sale will pay Justin’s $31.5M debt

Hailey Bieber is denying claims that her husband, Justin Bieber, is relying on the sale of her beauty company to settle his multimillion debts to Scooter Braun’s former company, Hybe.

On Thursday, TMZ reported the “Peaches” singer will not pay the $31.5 million fee in his settlement to Braun until the payout from his wife’s beauty brand, Rhode, is fully closed and hits their bank account.

Hailey Bieber caught wind of the report and responded by denying the claim, insisting that the sale of her company is “completely separate from her husband and his business affairs” with Braun.

As for why her husband owes the money in the first place, an independent audit earlier this year showed the Grammy winner accumulated $26 million of debt to concert promoter AEG after he postponed his international Justice Tour in 2022 and then canceled it altogether. He also owed an additional $19 million in commissions.

When the singer couldn’t pay off the debt, Braun’s entertainment company agreed to step in, with Bieber signing an agreement promising to pay back Hybe over a 10-year period. He allegedly paid one installment of that plan and then stopped making payments entirely.

Under the terms of a recent settlement to handle the dispute, Bieber reportedly agreed to pay back Hybe the $26 million, as well as around $5.5 million of the commissions, totaling about $31.5 million.

But a source told TMZ the “Sorry” singer wouldn’t have the money to repay the debt until the close of Rhode’s billion-dollar sale. As an investor in the beauty company, Bieber himself is reportedly set to receive a cut of around $50 million.

Insiders told the outlet the sale of Rhode Beauty is expected to be complete in a month or two.
