Your only Sunday night task is to watch “Task.”
“Task,” is the newest HBO drama miniseries. It premieres tonight, Sept. 7, at 9 p.m. on the network and its HBO Max streaming service.
The new series comes from Brad Inglesby, perhaps best known for creating, writing, and producing another HBO Sunday night hit, 2021’s “Mare of Easttown.”
Like “Mare,” “Task” is set in the Philadelphia suburbs. Mark Ruffalo stars as Tom, an FBI agent called on to lead a new task force for the bureau. Per HBO’s official synopsis, Tom’s task force is put together “to put an end to a string of violent robberies led by an unsuspecting family man (Tom Pelphrey).”
Themes of fatherhood, guilt, and broken dreams will be explored as the two men continue to orbit each other while also pulling others from their lives into the tangled web.
