The curators at the Hinterland Music Festival don’t get enough credit.
Year in and year out, their team books satisfying, diverse lineups. And, by the looks of it, they’ve pulled off that neat trick once again for 2026.
Just a few of the biggest names set to descend upon Saint Charles, IA’s Avenue of the Saints Amphitheater from July 30 through Aug. 2 include international K-Pop icons Katseye, sonically-adventurous hitmaker Lorde, folk-rock mainstays Mumford and Sons, sultry R&B chantreuse Kali Uchis and edgy country star Jessie Murph.
They’ll be joined by rapidly rising artists beabadoobee, MUNA, Young Miko, ASHNIKKO and Snow Strippers.
Personally, we’re most excited for old guard indie vets The Format, ’00s hero Santigold, up-and-coming garage rockers Geese, dreamy singer-songwriter Suki Waterhouse and lo-fi jammers Wet Leg.
Based on our findings, 29 exciting acts have been booked for the four-day musical extravaganza.
And, best of all, Hinterland invested in making the fest experience better for fans after a rough 2024.
According to Little Village Mag, “the festival expanded from one main entrance to three. Camping and walking areas were separated from vehicle traffic. Water stations multiplied across the grounds. Natural and built shade structures dotted the landscape. The main stage itself shifted to a larger space that previously served as campground…providing more room for fans to spread out.”
Sound like the festival of your music dreams?
