How to watch ‘Shrinking’ Season 3 free: Release date, cast, streaming

Over a year after Season 2 wrapped up, Apple TV’s hit dramedy “Shrinking” returns for Season 3 tonight.

Created by Bill Lawrence, Brett Goldstein (“Ted Lasso”) and Jason Segel, “Shrinking” follows Jimmy (Segel), a therapist drowning in his own grief after his wife’s death, as he begins to drastically increase his involvement in his patients’ lives by telling them exactly what he thinks.

The new season picks up in the aftermath of the Season 2 finale, in which Jimmy shares an emotional moment with Louis (Goldstein), the drunk driver who killed his wife in a crash.

If Season 1 explored grief and Season 2 was all about forgiveness, that finale moment perfectly sets up Season 3’s central theme: moving forward.

Season 3 is also set to feature Michael J. Fox after a five-year hiatus from acting. Fox will play a Parkinson’s patient who befriends Paul (Harrison Ford, who was Emmy-nominated for his work in Season 2), as Paul’s battle with the neurodegenerative disease continues to progress.

Ahead of the Jan. 28 premiere, Apple TV has already announced that “Shrinking” was renewed for a fourth season.
