Director Woody Allen and wife Soon-Yi Previn regard shock jock Howard Stern as a “mortal enemy,” according to the latest trove of documents released by the Department of Justice on disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.
Epstein emailed Previn on Nov. 29, 2017 asking if she and Allen, his Upper East Side neighbors, would like Stern to attend a dinner they were planning to attend.
“Do i remember correctly that woody does not like howard stern? Should we invite cavett?” wrote Epstein, referring to droll talk-show host Dick Cavett.
Previn, 55, opened fire: “Howard Stem is a mortal enemy. He is strongly in Mia’s corner.”
Shock jock Stern, 72, savaged Allen, 90, during the director’s 1992 bitter custody battle with his ex, actress Mia Farrrow.
The “Rosemary’s Baby” star claimed Allen sexually abused their daughter Dylan Farrow when she was a child. Allen vehemently denied the allegations, and they were dismissed by the judge in the custody case and NYC Department of Social Services. Criminal charges were never filed against the “Crimes and Misdemeanors” director.
Allen’s bananas personal life was great fodder on “The Howard Stern Show.”
The Long Island funnyman routinely mocked Brooklyn-born Allen’s romantic relationship with Previn, Farrow’s adopted daughter.
Stern’s name surfaces in other newly released Epstein emails.
In a series of April 12, 2015 emails between veteran comedian Bobby Slayton and Epstein, who wanted comics invited to a shindig Epstein was hosting, Slayton suggests Stern sidekick Jackie “The Joke Man” Martling.
“Ask him about ANY subject and he has a jok[e] for it,” wrote Slayton. “And great stories about why Howard Stern is such a cheap a–hole.”
Slayton added he can invite Chris Rock, “but he probably won’t come unless you invite Woody . . . same with Louis C.K. who Woody knows very well and adores.”
In an Instagram post two years ago, comedian Lewis Black describes attending a party Epstein threw at his Upper East Side mansion that included Slayton, Allen, Cavett, Previn and magician David Blaine.
“Epstein was like . . . let’s get a list of hoo-ha’s together,” recalled Black, adding Slayton helped organize and boasted to him that Epstein had “really unbelievable wine.”
Days after the latest Epstein doc dump, Stern, the self-proclaimed “King of All Media,” missed his Feb. 2 broadcast, prompting fans to question his health and the show’s stability.
Stern in December announced he extended his contract with SiriusXM for another three years after his previous five-year contract reportedly worth $450 million to $500 million expired.
Reps for Stern, Allen and Cavett could not immediately be reached for comment.
