Hugh Grant is speaking out following a “creepy” experience at London’s Heathrow Airport while traveling with his children.
The “Notting Hill” actor, detailed the interaction with an immigration officer that he deemed “intrusive.”
“Just came through Heathrow with wife and children,” Hugh wrote on X. “We all have the same last name on our passports. Immigration officer engages my children in chit chat then whispers to them ‘Are these your Mum and Dad?’”
The British father of four went on to describe the moment as “Intrusive, insulting and creepy.”
A spokesperson for Heathrow told People that immigration officers are not hired by the airport, but rather the Home Office.
If you are travelling with a child (under 18) and are not the child’s parent, or may appear not to be the parent (for example, if you have a different family name), we may ask you a few questions to establish your relationship with the child,” the government office’s website reads. “We will always do this as quickly as possible and in a way which is sensitive to the interests of the child and the adult involved.

In 2018, the “Heretic” star married Anna Eberstein. They have three children together: 12-year-old John Mungo, 9-year-old Lulu Danger and 6-year-old Blue. Grant also has two other children —13-year-old Tabitha Xiao, 11-year-old son Felix Chang — with his ex Tinglan Hong.
While the 64-year-old actor rarely discusses his kids, he opened up about his family on Jimmy Kimmel Live! sharing that his daughter Lulu is a huge Taylor Swift fan. “She does want to meet Taylor, and I haven’t been able to lay that on for her.”
