Another trip around the sun.
TV icon Barbara Eden stepped out in Los Angeles on Saturday on her 94th birthday.
The “I Dream of Jeannie” star was photographed leaving a hair salon and getting into her white car in a parking lot in Studio City on her big day.
Eden was dressed in a red long-sleeve shirt, a red and white skirt, tan open-toed shoes and white sunglasses. She held a black purse, a birthday card and what looked like a red iPad in her hand.
To celebrate Eden’s birthday, her official Instagram account shared a post in honor of the beloved actress.
“Let’s all take a moment to wish our favorite blonde, entertainment icon and Hollywood legend Barbara Eden a very VERY Happy Birthday today!” the account wrote, alongside a photo of Eden wearing a blue and white shirt and doing her signature genie pose from the sitcom.
“We invite you to share your birthday wishes for Ms. Eden here as she celebrates her 94th Birthday! -Team Eden,” the post’s caption added.
The comments section was flooded with happy birthday wishes from fans and other celebrities including Jennie Garth, Paris Hilton and Caroline Rhea.
Eden got her big break as a recurring sketch performer on “The Johnny Carson Show” in 1955. She then shot to fame with her role as the titular 2,000-year-old genie in “I Dream of Jeannie” in the 1960s.
After a 70-year career, the actress and singer stopped working professionally once she turned 90, though she’s continued to make appearances at fan conventions.
On her 92nd birthday in 2023, Eden told People that fans surprisingly remember her smaller acting roles.
“Every time I make a personal appearance, someone comes up and asks me about the manicurist, which I did one episode as on ‘The Andy Griffith Show,’” she explained.
“I also did one episode of ‘I Love Lucy,’ and fans remember that, too,” Eden shared. “When I was doing it, I just didn’t think about it, that it would ever live that long or people would remember it.”
Eden explained that her love for acting kept her in the business for so long.
“All through the years, I’ve noticed that many people don’t realize what a joy it is and what a gift it is to be able to work in an arena that you really love,” she said. “So many people have to work in jobs they hate, and they have to do it just for sustenance, but aren’t we lucky when we can study for something, enjoy it and know that other people enjoy it?”
“I think that’s a gift that life gives us,” she added, “if we are willing to work for it.”
As for her personal life, Eden has been married to her third husband, Jon Eicholtz, since 1991. She had a son, Matthew Ansara, who died of a drug overdose at age 35 in 2001.
