Pakistani influencer Pyari Maryam has died at age 26 after giving birth to twin boys.
The social media star’s husband, Ahsan Ali, confirmed her death on Thursday in an Instagram story, writing, “Indeed, to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return. Dear Maryam has passed away. Everyone is requested to pray that may Allah, the Lord of Honor, forgive her and elevate her ranks.”
Ali paired the message with photos of the couple’s newborns and requested prayers from Maryam’s supporters.
While he didn’t reveal Maryam’s exact cause of death, he indicated it might be linked to complications from childbirth, mentioning that she’d given birth to the babies shortly before her death.
“Both little babies are completely safe,” Ali added. “Please avoid spreading false rumors, and pray for our dear Maryam.”
Maryam, who amassed more than 2.3 million followers on TikTok, was known for her heartfelt videos, in which she documented her family life and relationship with her husband.
Maryam’s death comes shortly after Australian food and wellness influencer Stacey Hatfield died from a rare complication after giving birth at her home in September. In another incident earlier this year, influencer and nurse Hailey Okula died during a C-section. Both of their children survived.
