‘It Ends With Us’ author Colleen Hoover gives cancer update after radiation photo

Colleen Hoover has shared a welcome health update after revealing her shocking cancer diagnosis.

The “It Ends With Us” author, 46, took to social media over the weekend to clarify that while she was diagnosed with an unspecified form of cancer last year, it has since gone into remission.

“Just clarification because of some misleading clickbait making it sound like I’m on my deathbed or something, but I do not have cancer anymore,” the best-selling writer shared on Facebook on Friday.

“I was diagnosed sometime last year, had surgery that was successful, just finished radiation yesterday,” she added. “I am done and good and all is well and has been well. My doctors doctored. Hell yeah.”

Hoover first hinted at her cancer diagnosis back in October when she announced that she would miss the premiere of “Regretting You,” the 2025 film adaptation of her 2019 novel, because she was having “an unavoidable surgery.”

“I’ll live vicariously through you guys,” she said at the time. “So sad to miss this movie release and premiere, but so grateful to all the actors and the team who put this together.”

Hoover publicly announced her cancer diagnosis in a Facebook post shared by content creator Katyinkc two months later.

The famous writer said that she began experiencing “recurring health issues” while in Canada on the set of the upcoming film adaptation of her book “Reminders of Him.”

She ultimately “put off” the health issues “until the movie was finished,” but “when I returned home, I found out I had cancer.”

Hoover added that her cancer had been “removed through surgery,” and that while she needed to undergo radiation treatments, she didn’t need to receive chemotherapy.

“So while it felt huge and scary for a bit, and I had to miss out on the ‘Regretting You’ premiere and some other important career and personal moment, I just wasn’t ready to share with anyone until I knew what the outcome would be,” she shared in December.

The “Slammed” writer returned to Facebook earlier this month to share another health update regarding her cancer journey. She revealed that her cancer didn’t come from family genes, HPV or excessive hormones.

“This means it was more than likely environmental/lifestyle, which is lack of exercise, poor diet and stress,” Hoover explained. “I’m happy and grateful to be alive, but I hate vegetables. I hate when I have to get off the couch. I hate sweating. I hate when science is right.”

Hoover took to social media once more to reveal that she was undergoing her “second to last day of radiation” at Texas Oncology on Jan. 12.

“I wish I could blame my hair and facial expressions on [Texas Oncology], but they’ve been great,” she wrote on her Instagram Story alongside a photo of herself in a hospital gown. “Hope you never need them, but highly recommend them.”

The Post has reached out to Hoover’s rep for comment.

Hoover, meanwhile, has also made recent headlines amid the ugly legal battle between “It Ends With Us” co-stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.

Lively, 38, sued Baldoni for alleged sexual harassment and for allegedly orchestrating a retaliatory public smear campaign against her shortly after the film was released in Aug. 2024.

Baldoni, 41, countersued Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, alleging defamation, extortion and more. However, the director’s $400 million lawsuit has since been dismissed by a judge.

Lively’s lawsuit against Baldoni is currently scheduled to go to trial in May.

Hoover went on to call Lively and Baldoni’s legal battle both “unfortunate” and “disappointing” during an interview with Elle in December.

The author added that she can no longer “recommend” her 2016 bestseller because of the ongoing controversy.

“I feel like [the lawsuit] has overshadowed it,” Hoover explained last month. “I’m almost embarrassed to say I wrote it. When people ask what I do, I’m just like, ‘I’m a writer. Please don’t ask me what I wrote.’”
