J.Lo, Affleck still partners — in trying to sell $60M mansion

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are divorced, but they’re still partners in a Beverly Hills mansion they barely lived in.

The former couple just dropped the asking price on the 38,000-square-foot estate from $68 million to just under $60 million — nearly $1 million less than what they paid for it two years ago when they were married and thought they needed room for the five kids they share with previous partners.

The star-crossed couple took out a $20 million mortgage, said Marilyn Chinitz, a top matrimonial lawyer with Blank Rome LLP.

Chinitz — whose clients have included Tom Cruise, Wendy Williams and Michael Douglas — said the empty estate could be costing the couple about $3 million a year.

“Nobody wanted it at $68 million. He wanted to lower the asking price. She finally agreed,” Chinitz told me. “This was the marital home, but the marriage is over.”

Affleck bought a much smaller $20 million home in Brentwood, while Lopez purchased an $18 million property in nearby Hidden Hills.

Affleck never liked the immense mansion in Beverly Hills.

Chinitz said, “Having it sit on the market, they likely have incurred several million dollars in expenses. He finally convinced her they are best off just lowering the price and getting rid of it.”

Ilyasah Shabazz, the daughter of Malcolm X, went to the Met Gala for the first time wearing a black-and-white Fear of God suit designed by Jerry Lorenzo.

Introduced to Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour, who runs the gala, Shabazz said, “She looked me up and down and said, ‘Fabulous!’”

The Ultimate Diamonds ice on her wrists and dangling from her ears helped. “I had to give them back,” she said with a sigh.

With the theme this year being “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” Shabazz was a natural to attend the event for the first time.

“My father was a dandy,” she said. “He wore a zoot suit when he was 15.”

When he became a Muslim in his 20s, Malcolm adopted X to symbolize his unknown African ancestral surname while discarding “the white slave master name of ‘Little.’”

He was known for his crisp white shirts, skinny ties and his horn-rimmed glasses. “Everyone is copying the glasses,” said Shabazz, who was there in the Audubon Ballroom in Harlem the night her father was assassinated. She was 2.

The site on Broadway at 165th St. is now the Shabazz Center, where Malcolm X’s 100th birthday will be celebrated on May 19.

“There is a spirit in that space that is so special. People from around the world come in and start crying,” Shabazz said.

“My mother [Betty Shabazz] always said, ‘Find the good and praise it.’ She never spoke about seeing my father gunned down. She raised us in a bubble of love.”
