Philadelphia Eagles’ quarterback Jalen Hurts remains mum about whether he’ll attend the team’s Trump White House visit.
In a viral video circulating online, the NFL star had an awkwardly silent response to being asked if he plans to join his teammates at the upcoming White House visit.
“Umm,” he replied in an interview while at the TIME100 gala, looking visibly uncomfortable with speaking on the matter. After a long pause, the reporter broke the silence with, “Got it. Thank you so much” before Hurts walked away.

Hurts attended the gala as one of TIME’s Most Influential People of 2025 after leading the Eagles to victory at this year’s Super Bowl.
Following the Eagles’ Superbowl win in 2018, players boycotted the White House appearance due to a national anthem dispute, resulting in Trump rescinding the invitation at the time.
Trump said some members of the team “disagree with their president because he insists that they proudly stand for the national anthem, hand on heart.”
This year, the team formally accepted Trump’s public invitation after beating the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX. The reigning football champions are now scheduled to visit Trump on April 28.
Trump, who attended the Super Bowl game in New Orleans, became the first President to attend a Super Bowl while holding office.
