Jennifer Aniston’s new ‘Morning Show’ office rival gushes over ‘bucket list’ role

From Logan to Rogan.

Boyd Holbrook, best known as the villain menacing Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in the 2017 film “Logan,” joins “The Morning Show” Season 4 as a Joe Rogan-esque podcaster who butts heads with Alex Levy (Jennifer Aniston).

“That was a bit of a bucket list [moment]. I can check that off,” Holbrook, 44, exclusively told The Post, referring to working with Aniston.

He added about the “Friends” star: “They say don’t meet your heroes, but we met!”

Premiering on Sept. 17 on AppleTV+, the Emmy-winning “The Morning Show” follows Alex Levy (Aniston) and Bradley Jackson (Reese Witherspoon), two high-powered news anchors at a broadcast network.

The ensemble cast also includes Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Greta Lee, Jeremy Irons, Karen Pittman, and Jon Hamm.

Season 4 is set in 2024 and finds the network preparing for the Paris Olympics and contending with topical issues such as AI.

Much to Alex’s ire, Brodie “Bro” Hartman (Holbrook) is a “manosphere” type of media figure who is a rising star.

When asked if he looked at Rogan for inspiration in his performance, Holbrook said, “not really,” but added, “I’m very aware of Joe Rogan.”

He joked that he “watched a lot of Oprah” to prepare for the role.

“The Sandman” actor didn’t look to any particular real-life figure in the “manosphere” space in order to play Bro Hartman.

“I’m a big fan of a lot of shows that are out there. I think they’re little microcosms of National Geographic or PBS, that cater to your interests about anything,” he told The Post.

“I think the truth is hidden in the writing. And my job is to not judge any of that. That’s the fun part of performing the character with such a cool, strange point of view on things.”

He quipped that during his scenes with Aniston, “I just tried to not be weird.”

“I think she’s done, in my opinion, the best work that she’s ever done in this show, because I think it’s an accumulation of everything [in her career],” he gushed. “It’s taking all the best bits that she does, not just the funny stuff, but the most dramatic, and putting it into this role.”

When entering such a star-studded show four seasons in, Holbrook said, “You’re the new guy. Everybody’s already made friends. Where do I fit in? But, that’s like the criteria of getting anything you’re going to do as an actor. The role is so fun to do.”

In “The Morning Show,” other characters wonder if Bro Hartman believes everything he says, or if he puts on a persona.

“I’m always [searching] for a look at what this guy is,” he told the Post.

“He blows a lot of smoke. So you don’t actually look at what’s going on inside his individual snowflake fragility,” Holbrook told The Post.

He added that as the show progresses, he wants to explore, “Where is his Achilles heel? I know it’s in there, somewhere.”
