Jennifer Lopez will return to host the American Music Awards, a decade after first doing the honors.
The 55-year-old Bronx native is also scheduled to perform at the fan-voted awards show, airing live from Las Vegas on Memorial Day, May 26, on CBS. The 51st ceremony will also stream on Paramount+.
Lopez, a three-time AMA winner herself, follows Wayne Brady who hosted the event in 2022. (The awards did not take place in 2023 or 2024.) Cardi B and Taraji P. Henson emceed the show in previous years.
The “Can’t Get Enough” singer teased her return as host on the “American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special,” that aired last October.
“Maybe I’ll do it again one day,” she said at the time.
She then took to Instagram Wednesday to confirm the official news, writing: “Good things come in threes JLO. AMA. CBS.”
Jay Penske, the CEO of Dick Clark Productions, said he was “thrilled to welcome” J.Lo back as host.
“Jennifer’s incredible talent and incomparable stage presence make her the ideal host of the show,” he said in a statement. “We know she will bring her one-of-a-kind energy to the official kickoff celebration of summer.”
Nominations for the awards are to be announced at a later date.
