The Jets’ general manager search is ramping up.
Former Tennessee Titans general manager Jon Robinson and former NFL executive Louis Riddick are set to interview for the Jets’ open GM job, ESPN reported Sunday.
The development comes a little under a month after the Jets fired general manager Joe Douglas following five-plus seasons in the role.
Robinson’s interview is set to take place this week, according to ESPN. The Titans went 66-48 in Robinson’s seven seasons as GM and made the playoffs four times.
Tennessee drafted superstar running back Derrick Henry in Robinson’s first year at the helm and standout wide receiver A.J. Brown three years later.
The Titans fired Robinson, 48, in December 2022 and replaced him with current general manager Ran Carthon the following month.
Riddick, meanwhile, is set to interview with the Jets at some point in the next few weeks.
A former NFL safety, Riddick, 55, held multiple roles in the Washington and Philadelphia front offices, including director of pro personnel for both organizations.
He has worked for ESPN as a football analyst since 2013 but has frequently interviewed for general manager jobs over the past decade, including with the Giants in 2017.
Robinson and Riddick are expected to be among a larger pool of candidates considered for the Jets’ GM vacancy. The Jets must wait until the end of the regular season to interview executives currently employed by NFL teams.
The Jets fired Douglas on Nov. 19, six weeks after they fired head coach Robert Saleh. Phil Savage has operated as the Jets’ interim GM, while Jeff Ulbrich has served as the interim head coach.
The Jets went 30-64 under Douglas and did not make the playoffs or finish with a winning record in any year of his tenure. Douglas was the general manager when the Jets drafted Zach Wilson with the No. 2 overall pick in 2021 and when they traded for Aaron Rodgers in 2023.
Last month, the Jets enlisted The 33rd Team — a football analysis company founded by former Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum in 2019 — to aid in their search for a new GM and head coach.
Tannenbaum, who spent 15 years in the Jets front office, including 2006-12 as the general manager, is spearheading the pursuit with former Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Spielman.
The Jets would consider hiring a head coach before their general manager, according to ESPN, which is a less traditional approach.
