Joe Manganiello engaged to Caitlin O’Connor after 2 years of dating

Joe Manganiello is officially engaged to actress Caitlin O’Connor after nearly two years of dating.

Manganiello, 48, initially let the news slip by introducing 36-year-old O’Connor as his fiancée while giving a speech at the San Diego Film Festival on Thursday.

On Friday, the “True Blood” alum confirmed the engagement on Instagram, posting a photo of the summer proposal captioned, “June 24, 2025.” In the snap, the couple smiles as O’Connor subtly flashes her new ring.

Manganiello and O’Connor first sparked dating rumors in September of 2023 after meeting a mutual friend’s home. They soon started “spending all of their time together,” a source told People the following year, describing the couple as “super happy” and supportive of each other.

Their engagement comes roughly two years after the “Magic Mike” star filed for divorce from Sofía Vergara after seven years of marriage.

At the time, the exes released a joint statement saying, “As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect for our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.”

Vergara later revealed that the main reason for the demise of the marriage was a disagreement about children.

“My marriage broke up because my husband was younger; he wanted to have kids and I didn’t want to be an old mom,” she said in a 2024 interview with Spanish newspaper El País. “I feel it’s not fair to the baby. I respect whoever does it, but that’s not for me anymore.”

Vergara is already a mom to her son, Manolo, whom she shares with ex-husband Joe Gonzalez. Now that Manolo is an adult himself, Vergara said it’s time to move on to a different phase of her life.

“I had a son at 19, who is now 32, and I’m ready to be a grandmother, not a mother,” she added. “So, if love comes along, he has to come with [his own] children.”

Joe Manganiello and Sofia Vergara arrive at the Los Angeles premiere of “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” at the Shrine Auditorium on Dec. 9, 2017, in Los Angeles.

A source told People in March 2024 that Manganiello was “pretty broken up when the divorce happened,” but said “he and Sofía both knew it was time to move on.”

Since their split, Vergara has similarly moved on. She began dating orthopedic surgeon Justin Saliman in the fall of 2023, though she seemingly confirmed their breakup earlier this year.
