John Cameron Mitchell celebrates Pride, A-Rod brunches in Bridgehampton

With the weather barely cooperating, Hamptonites were forced to frolic in places other than the beach this past weekend.

On Saturday, after leading the Hamptons Pride Parade in East Hampton, Tony Award-winner John Cameron Mitchell, performed an evening of songs and stories from his career on and Off-
Broadway and beyond — at Guild Hall. Audience members were encouraged to dress up “and embrace the night in glitter, big hair and bold expression!”

It was a good weekend for staying indoors. Spotted enjoying dinner together at Nick & Toni’s on Saturday night in the cozy back room were Andy Cohen with Jon Hamm and his wife Anna Osceola.  Former Yankee Alex Rodriguez had breakfast at the Golden Pear in Bridgehampton over the weekend.

The weekend before, SiriusXM host and Broadway conductor Seth Rudetsky hosted a one-night-only version of his concert series with Ana Gasteyer (May 31st). Gasteyer performed songs and told behind-the-scenes stories, including moments from classic SNL skits like her Celine Dion impersonation and the classic Alec Baldwin skit, Schweddy Balls.

Liz Lange opened up her home, Grey Gardens, for a Hamptons Social Magazine kick-off soiree on Saturday May 31, in conjunction with her fashion brand, FIGUE. Co-hosted by editor and publisher Lizabeth Wells, guests included Fern Mallis, Candace Bushnell, interior designer Libby Langdon and fitness guru Isaac Boots, who all marveled at the impeccable grounds and lush landscaped
gardens where Edith Bouvier Beale (Big Edie) and Little Edie — cousins of former First Lady Jackie Bouvier Kennedy and the subject of the Maysles Brothers 1975 cult classic film, Grey Gardens once lived.

A longtime Amagansett homeowner, art dealer Larry Gagosian has bought East Hampton’s beloved bookstore, BookHampton — much to the relief of locals, as he has promised to keep it a general interest bookstore.

The East Hampton Library announced their popular Authors Night — in its 21st year, with a wide range of confirmed authors to be on hand with their latest tomes, including Christie Brinkley (Uptown Girl, A Memoir,) Hilaria Baldwin (Manual Not Included,) and ex-professional hockey player Sean Avery — whose new book, Summer Skate is a steamy romance novel about an illicit affair between a bestseller author and a New York Ranger, set
in the Hamptons.  Authors night is set for August 9th.
