John-Paul Miller charged with cyberstalking wife Mica Miller

A disgraced Myrtle Beach pastor, whose estranged wife died by suicide in 2024, has been accused of posting her nude photos online and harassing her in the lead-up to her death.

John-Paul Miller, former pastor of Solid Rock Church, was indicted Thursday for cyberstalking and making false statements, according to a statement from the US Attorney’s Office for the District of South Carolina. He’s accused of tormenting 30-year-old Mica Miller from November 2022 until she fatally shot herself two years later.

In the same time frame, Mica twice filed for divorce from Miller. The first, filed in October 2023, was dismissed in February 2024. She filed again on April 15, 2024, just days before her death.

Prosecutors said John-Paul Miller “sent unwanted and harassing communications” to Mica. In one instance, he reached out more than 50 times in a single day. The ex-pastor is additionally accused of “causing tracking devices to be placed on her vehicle,” slashing Mica’s tires, and interfering with her finances and day-to-day life.

Miller also allegedly shared “a nude photo of the victim online without her consent,” prosecutors said.

Mica’s body was found in a North Carolina state park on April 27, 2024, after she called 911 and told dispatchers she planned to take her own life. While her death was officially ruled a suicide, her family’s allegations of abuse prompted authorities to further investigate the matter.

“This has to be at least looked into deeply. There’s got to be some accountability here,” Kenn Young, a friend of Mica’s, told WDPE days after her death. “Because yeah, a tragic life was lost, and it’s not just as simple as mental health issues.”

Now, Miller is facing a maximum penalty of five years in prison for cyberstalking and two years in prison for his false statements. He also faces a fine of up to $250,000. His arraignment is scheduled for Jan. 12, 2026.

Miller is separately facing two sexual assault lawsuits, both brought by anonymous accusers. He has denied the allegations.
