He’s still her baby.
Justin Bieber’s mom, Pattie Mallette, took to Instagram to pray for the 31-year-old “Peaches” singer in a rare post shared on Monday, Sept. 22.
“We’re cheering you on and praying for you always Justin,” Mallette, 50, wrote alongside a carousel of photos from Bieber’s music video for his new song “Speed Demon,” which features the artist wearing a “Pray for Me” shirt.
“I declare freedom, strength, clarity, and healing over you Justin,” the “Baby” hitmaker’s mom added. “Every chain of fear, confusion, heaviness, and pain – be broken in Jesus’ name.”
After asking the “Holy Spirit” to “surround” her famous son with “truth, light, and protection” and “heal every wound in his heart,” the memoir writer asked that Jesus “restore what’s been stolen” from Bieber and “cover him in wholeness.”
“Fill him to OVERFLOWING with Your LOVE and COMFORT,” she continued. “Continue to raise him up as a voice for Your Kingdom, unshaken and on fire for You Lord.”
“Silence every voice that doesn’t come from You, and let his life be a bold witness of Your power, love, and healing grace,” Bieber’s mom concluded. “Say amen if you agree.”
The “Love Yourself” singer’s fans, meanwhile, rushed to the comments section of Mallette’s post to share their own prayers for Bieber.
“Godspeed Justin,” one person wrote. “It’s your breakthrough moment.” Another commented, “This man saved me. And I’m willing to do anything to pay the debt.”
“So proud of your son!” a third said. “He is his most authentic self right now and he is in full artistic control.”
Other fans, however, asked about Bieber and wondered whether the pop star is okay.
“What happened to Justin?” one concerned person wrote.
“Probably depression, something about he made wrong financial decisions and also got screwed by some people around him whom he trusted with his money, business, music, etc,” responded another. “He is allegedly in financial collapse.”
The Post reached out to Bieber’s rep for comment.
Mallette and the “Where Are U Now” singer’s dad, Jeremy Bieber, welcomed the pop star in 1994 when they were both 18. The pair never married and split just a few months after Bieber was born, per People.
Although Bieber admitted his relationship with his mom was “pretty nonexisting” in 2015, the mother-son pair eventually reunited in 2018.
“I was distant because I was ashamed,” the Grammy winner, who was experiencing a bout of poor public behavior, told Billboard at the time. “I never wanted my mom to be disappointed in me, and I knew she was.”
“We spent some time not talking, so it takes time to rebuild that trust,” he added. “She’s living in Hawaii now, so it’s hard, but getting better. She’s an amazing woman and I love her.”
The same day Mallette shared her Instagram post, Bieber took to the platform to share some photos of his own with wife Hailey Bieber, 28, and their baby son Jack at the Empire Polo Club, where Coachella is held.
On Sept. 15, it was announced that Bieber would be headlining Coachella next year alongside Sabrina Carpenter, Karol G and Anyma.
He reportedly scored a “groundbreaking” payday for the gig, and insiders claimed Bieber will make $10 million for his two performances.
“It’s a groundbreaking move for a headliner, and it’s something he built entirely on his own,” a source told Rolling Stone last week.
“Between headlining Coachella and the success of ‘Swag,’ it’s clear this is the start of an exciting new era for Justin – one where he’s fully in the driver’s seat,” they added.
The “Stay” singer, who had taken a step back from the spotlight amid mental health concerns, kicked off his musical comeback in July with the release of his album “Swag.” It continued earlier this month with the surprise release of “Swag II” on Sept. 5.
Both records featured songs about the ups and downs of Bieber and Hailey’s relationship, and the albums came after rumors that the pair were splitting up amid alleged marriage woes.
