Kate Middleton glows at Festival of Remembrance after chemo

Kate Middleton was the picture of royal grace on Saturday as she gradually returns to her public duties after completing chemotherapy.

The Princess of Wales wore her hair down and donned a commemorative poppy pin as she and Prince William, both 42, attended the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance, part of the U.K.’s annual acknowledgement of military veterans.

Kate donned a black fitted coat dress adorned with gold buttons, completing her look with a pearl necklace and matching drop earrings.

The event — which Queen Camilla skipped due to a chest infection — comes on the heels of William describing 2024 as “the hardest year in my life” as both his wife and father battle cancer.

“I’m so proud of my wife, I’m proud of my father, for handling the things that they have done,” he told People from South Africa this week. “But from a personal family point of view … it’s been brutal.”

Kate announced her cancer diagnosis in March after undergoing a planned abdominal surgery in January. It’s unknown if the surgery and her undisclosed form of cancer are related.

A month earlier, King Charles revealed his own diagnosis with cancer, which was discovered as he underwent treatment for benign prostate enlargement. Neither he nor Buckingham Palace have specified what kind of cancer he has, only stating that it’s “separate” from the prostate issue.

After a rough summer, Kate announced on Sept. 9 she had completed her chemotherapy treatment. A month later, she made a surprise public appearance, joining Prince William to meet with the families of the young victims killed in a stabbing attack at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class in July.
