Keanu Reeves and Alexandra Grant’s excellent adventure doesn’t include wedding bells at the moment.
The artist, 52, took to Instagram on Wednesday to shut down speculation that she tied the knot with the Canadian actor, 61.
“This is a real photo. Not an engagement photo or an AI wedding announcement… simply a kiss!” Grant penned. “(Albeit maybe the moment right before or after it… given the slightly goofy expressions on our faces!)”
The sculptor went on to detail what the couple were really up to at that time.
“We’re at Roden Crater, and Keanu and Gard had just finished interviewing James Turrell for Visionaries,” Grant continued. “I’m sharing it here to say thank you to everyone for the congratulations on our wedding.”
“Except we didn’t get married,” she concluded. “Good news is much needed these days, but it’s still fake news, so be careful out there! So, here’s a bit of real happiness! Real photo by Brian Skope (@skopephotography)!”
Reeves and Grant debuted their romance in November 2019 while on the red carpet for the LACMA Art + Film Gala in Los Angeles.
The pair had previously crossed paths in 2011, when they collaborated on the book “Ode to Happiness.”
After their debut, an insider revealed to People, “Keanu wants to openly share his life with her. He is extremely happy and grateful to have Alex in his life.”
The source added that the duo “started dating earlier this year, but have wanted to keep it quiet.”
A year later, Grant confessed why she was hesitant to step out in public together for the first time.
“I think every single person I knew called me in the first week of November,” she told Vogue in 2020, “and that’s fascinating, but the question I’ve been asking in all of this is, ‘What is the opportunity for good?’”
Although the lovebirds might have been romantic long before their outing.
“It’s really astonishing to me how in the last five months, all of a sudden, she goes to an event with him and everybody goes insane, like, ‘It’s his new girlfriend,’ because she had gone to a lot of events with him,” Grant’s pal, Jennifer Tilly, admitted to Page Six in February 2020. “It’s just suddenly surfaced that he’s been dating her for several years.”
In March 2023, Reeves was asked when his last moment of bliss was, and he sweetly pointed to his other half.
“A couple of days ago with my honey,” he expressed to People. “We were in bed. We were connected. We were smiling and laughing and giggling. Feeling great. It was just really nice to be together.”
Despite keeping their relationship largely private, Grant also hasn’t shied away from praising the “John Wick” star.
“He’s such an inspiration to me,” she told the outlet in September of that year. “He’s so creative, he’s so kind. He works so hard.”
“What I love about Keanu and our exchange is that we’re pushing each other to build new roads,” Grant added. “Seeing the other person’s problem-solving is inspiring, like, ‘This one, that’s a cul-de-sac. How do I try this other thing?’”
This past September, Grant celebrated Reeves’ birthday with a heartfelt post on Instagram, noting that the Hollywood vet was “well-celebrated.”
“And to Keanu – who saw this post as a draft! – I am so grateful for your love and partnership. Now back to painting! xo,” she penned.
