Keanu Reeves isn’t dodging marriage speculation like he does bullets onscreen after Alexandra Grant had to clarify last month that the happy couple had not tied the knot.
The “Matrix” and “John Wick” star, 61, told E! News on Monday that last month “wasn’t the first time” people assumed he and the visual artist, 52, had said “I do.”
“We’ve been going out for a long time,” Reeves acknowledged at the New York City premiere of his film “Good Fortune.”
In late September, Grant shared an image of the pair kissing on a set of steps at Roden Crater in Flagstaff, Ariz. to respond to “fake news” that she and Reeves had gotten hitched.
“This is a real photo. Not an engagement photo or an AI wedding announcement… simply a kiss!” Grant wrote at the time. “I’m sharing it here to say thank you to everyone for the congratulations on our wedding. Except we didn’t get married. Good news is much needed these days, but it’s still fake news, so be careful out there! So, here’s a bit of real happiness!”
“People did a lot of nice messages and stuff, but Alexandra just did a wonderful [job] addressing” the rumor mill, Reeves told E! News.
The “Waiting for Godot” star also remembered his “Something’s Gotta Give” co-star Diane Keaton as a “total pro,” following the Oscar winner’s death Saturday at age 79.
“She was very nice to me. Generous, generous artist and a very special, unique person,” said Reeves.
