She ripped into them.
Kelly Ripa jokingly scolded an audience member who interrupted Christopher Meloni’s interview during the live broadcast of “Live with Kelly & Mark” on Thursday.
Meloni, 64, was talking about taking a vacation with his wife, production designer Sherman Meloni, who he’s been married to since 1995.
“My wife and I went down to the Dominican Republic,” the “Law & Order” star said. “We were at this beautiful restaurant overlooking a jungle, without a light. There was no [light]. It’s not built up, no one’s there.”
An audience member interrupted to ask, “Where was it?”
Meloni shouted back, “I’m not telling you!”
Ripa, 54, and her co-host, husband Mark Consuelos, 54, quickly cut in.
“We’ll handle the questions, ma’am!” Ripa said with a smile.
Meloni and his wife share two kids: Sophia, 24, and Dante, 21.
Meloni’s “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit” co-star Mariska Hargitay is Sophia’s godmother.
On Hargitay’s birthday in 2023, Sophia posted a video of herself with Hargitay via Instagram and wrote, “Waving my wand to summon all things sparkly, shiny, beautiful and grand for my fairy godmamma today.”
The Thursday incident with the “Oz” star isn’t the first time Ripa has talked back to the audience.
In September 2023, Consuelos opened the ABC show by saying, “You know what tonight is, right? Tonight is Monday night. Do you know what happens on Monday night? There’s football on Monday night!”
At the time, they were talking about his favorite team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, going up against Ripa’s favorite team, the Philadelphia Eagles.
The audience got riled up, and Ripa had to shout, “Stop!”
It happened again during a May 2024 interview with “Bridgerton” star Nicola Coughlan, who was detailing the show’s sex scenes.
“They’re cinch-ey, they used them in the ‘50s, so you can bend,” Coughlan, 38, said about her dresses. “I wanted to move a little differently this season. She’s a bit more womanly, she’s got to move her hips a little bit.”
When the audience cheered loudly, Ripa turned to the crowd and said, “Calm down, you Gen Z perverts!”
