Kendrick Lamar, SZA’s Grand National Tour to hit MetLife in May

On the heels of dropping the most streamed hip-hop diss track of all time, Kendrick Lamar has announced he’s taking his show on the road next year — and SZA is coming along for the ride.

The Grammy and Pulitzer Prize-winning rapper announced on Tuesday the North American dates for his upcoming Grand National Tour with his former labelmate and frequent collaborator.

The 21-date tour will kick off in Minneapolis next April and make stops in Houston, Atlanta and Philadelphia before playing two dates at MetLife Stadium on May 8 and 9 in East Rutherford, N.J.

The tour is currently scheduled to conclude its 19-city run on June 18 in Washington, D.C.

General tickets go on sale Dec. 6 at 10 a.m., while Cash App Visa cardholders can access the presale beginning at 10 a.m. on Wednesday.

Tuesday’s announcement follows the surprise release of Lamar’s fifth chart-topping Billboard 200 album, “GNX.” According to tracking service Luminate, the 12-song opus launched with 2024’s third-biggest streaming week for any album of the year.

Immediate interest in the project was bolstered by Lamar’s high-profile rap feud with Drake earlier this year, which he revisited on his latest album.

Lamar’s Grammy-nominated song “Not Like Us” is currently at the center of a lawsuit in which Drake accuses Universal Music Group of defamation for releasing the diss track in May.

The documents focus on the song’s description of Drake as a “certified pedophile,” claiming UMG had the power to prevent false claims from spreading by stopping the track’s release.
