Kevin Spacey is homeless years after sexual assault scandal

Kevin Spacey is homeless eight years after his sexual assault scandal tarnished his career.

The Oscar winner, 66, revealed in a new interview with The Telegraph that he’s lost his Baltimore, Maryland home where he lived for 12 years.

“I’m living in hotels, I’m living in Airbnbs,” Spacey said.

“I’m going where the work is,” he added. “I literally have no home, that’s what I’m attempting to explain.”

In 2017, Spacey was accused of committing sex offenses against four men between 2004 and 2013 while he was serving as artistic director at London’s historic Old Vic Theatre. He was charged with nine separate counts — including sexual assault and causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent. He denied all the allegations.

The “House of Cards” actor was deemed innocent in July 2023 and acquitted of all nine charges. He also won a sexual abuse case against alleged victim and fellow actor Anthony Rapp in 2022.

“The costs over these last seven years have been astronomical,” Spacey admitted to The Telegraph. “I’ve had very little coming in and everything going out.”

“You get through it. In weird ways, I feel I’m back to where I first started, which is I just went where the work was,” added Spacey, who was infamously banished from Hollywood after the initial allegations.

“Everything is in storage, and I hope at some point, if things continue to improve, that I’ll be able to decide where I want to settle down again,” he said.

Despite the scandal, Spacey is hopeful he can stage a career comeback.

“We are in touch with some extremely powerful people who want to put me back to work,” he claimed. “And that will happen in its right time. But I will also say what I think the industry seems to be waiting for is to be given permission – by someone who is in some position of enormous respect and authority.”

“So, my feeling is if Martin Scorsese or Quentin Tarantino call [manager] Evan [Lowenstein] tomorrow, it will be over,” Spacey continued. “I will be incredibly honored and delighted when that level of talent picks up the phone.”

Spacey’s last movie was the 2024 Italian thriller “The Contract.” He has several films in production, including the sci-fi thriller “Holiguards Saga — The Portal of Force,” which he’s also directing.

In addition, Spacey is starring in a one-man show, “Kevin Spacey: Songs & Stories,” which he recently performed in Cyprus.

“The last seven years have offered me a lot of opportunity to reflect and be reminded of what I’m grateful for, and the people in my life,” Spacey explained to The Telegraph. “So the idea of combining stories on some level, along with music, and in many cases music that I’ve never done before, songs I’ve never sung, but I’ve wanted to – maybe in the shower, but never on a stage.”

“So it just sort of happened when I wanted to see, can I get up and sing for my supper again?” he added.

In June, Spacey received a lifetime achievement award at the Cannes Film Festival and and said in his acceptance speech he had “come out the other side of these last few challenging years not angry, not bitter, not resentful, but more present, more loving, more understanding and more forgiving than I ever have been in my life.”
