Kid Cudi weds fashion designer Lola Abecassis Sartore

Kid Cudi is a newly married man mere weeks after testifying at Sean “Diddy” Combs’ federal sex trafficking and racketeering trial.

The 41-year-old rapper, real name Scott Mescudi, tied the knot with menswear designer Lola Abecassis Sartore on June 28 at Villa Cap Estel in her native South of France, Vogue reported Friday.

The Grammy winner and Sartore met in 2018 at designer Virgil Abloh’s first show for Louis Vuitton, when Sartore also worked for the French fashion house.

Cudi and Sartore, now the head designer at ERL, got engaged at the end of 2023, when he popped the question in Kyoto, though they didn’t announce the news until nearly four months later.

The couple’s nuptials took place just over a month after Cudi took the stand in a Manhattan courtroom, testifying that Harlem-born Combs blew up his Porsche in early 2012.

Cudi said he was targeted after he started dating Diddy’s on-and-off girlfriend Cassie Ventura. Combs and Ventura had a tumultuous relationship for over a decade, during which she said he raped, abused and humiliated her.

It was Ventura’s bombshell lawsuit in late 2023, which first made those allegations public, that initiated Diddy’s fall from grace. Though they settled the suit the following day for $20 million, it ultimately sparked the federal investigation into Combs that led to his trial.

Diddy was acquitted earlier this month of sex trafficking and racketeering charges, which could have carried a life sentence behind bars. He was ultimately found guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, for which he faces up to 20 years in prison, though he’s likely to get much less.

Prosecutors have estimated that Combs should serve between 51 and 63 months for his conviction, while his attorneys have said it should be closer to 21 to 27 months.

Diddy is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 3.
