LI home deemed structurally unsafe after teen’s Tesla crash

A Long Island home has been condemned after a teenage driver crashed a Tesla into the side of the building.

Nassau County police said the 17-year-old girl plowed into the Jericho home around 9:40 p.m. on Sunday after she drove off the road at the intersection of Onondaga Place and Orange Drive. Police did not say what led up to the crash or if speed played a factor.

She suffered a minor injury, but refused medical attention at the scene.

Two people were inside the house at the time of the crash but they were not hurt. However, they were displaced when the house was extensively damaged by the impact and deemed structurally unsafe by an inspector from the Town of Oyster Bay Building Division.
