The owner of a Westchester liquor store was arrested over the weekend when two loaded guns and cocaine were found in the shop during a search.
Police filed for a search warrant after receiving a tip that Amir Babiker, the owner of Amir’s Wine & Spirits in New Rochelle was selling cocaine out of the store.
During afternoon search on Oct. 24, detectives discovered a 9mm semi-automatic pistol, a .32-caliber two-shot derringer and approximately 21 grams of packaged cocaine ready for street-level sales, New Rochelle police Captain J. Collins Coyne said in a news release Monday.
Babiker, 28, was charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a firearm, criminal possession of stolen property and misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Coyne said the derringer was reported stolen in Columbia County in 2014.
The suspect faces up to 25 years in prison on the felony drug charge. He was released following his arraignment Saturday.
