The Post has reached out to Kudrow and Sorvino’s reps for comment.

The “Romy and Michele” sequel was teased by Sorvino, 57, in Nov. 2024, when the actress told People the film was “so close to being greenlit.”

“They’re just going back and forth, tweaking things here and there, and [there are] rumors of shooting it second quarter next year,” she said at the time.

“Almost every single character from the original that was important is coming back,” she went on. “This is all pending, them making deals, them saying yes, but they’re all in there.”

“But it’s not officially greenlit, so I can’t say that it’s officially greenlit.”

The original film, directed by David Mirkin and produced by Robin Schiff, follows two LA best friends (Kudrow and Sorvino) who return to their high school in Tuscon, Arizona, for the 10-year reunion of their graduating class. It also stars Janeane Garofalo, Alan Cumming, Elaine Hendrix and Camryn Manheim.

Last year, Cumming, 60, told Entertainment Weekly he was interested in reprising his role.

“I think what’s great about the sequel to Romy and Michele is just going back to something that is so beloved and having a relationship with these characters,” the “Traitors” host said.

“I actually know what the story is, and it’s really good. So I’m excited. I’m so excited to go back to it,” he added.

In 2022, Kudrow and Sorvino had a famous “Romy and Michele” reunion at the SAG Awards.

The pair came out on stage to present the award for outstanding ensemble in comedy series while dressed as their iconic characters. They also talked as their ditzy characters.

“I just realized this; we’re wearing great ensembles while at the same time presenting to great ensembles,” Sorvino said.

“You are so right. You are so right and these cast ensembles are so hilarious,” Kudrow, 61, replied. “And you knew that ensemble had two meanings. Okay, you’re genius.”
