‘Mad Men’ star January Jones reveals lifelong health condition

January Jones, best known for starring on “Mad Men,” has revealed a health condition she’s been struggling with for years – and one family member who’s dismissive of it.

On an Instagram video posted Thursday, Jones, 47, said, “For today, I’d like to talk about something that I’ve been struggling with my whole life, which is called misophonia. My whole life. And it’s gotten progressively worse over the years.”

The condition causes someone to feel extreme discomfort, anxiety, or disgust after hearing certain noises.

The Emmy nominated actress, who played Don Draper’s (Jon Hamm) wife, Betty Draper, on “Mad Men,” slammed a rude member of her family who doesn’t take her condition seriously.

“’I have a brother-in-law whose favorite food is chips. Just all the time, eating chips,” she said.

The actress said that she has talked to him “many times” about his noisy snack.

“And he seems to think it’s funny to eat chips around me now, because it’s an ongoing joke to see what happens and see what I do.”

Jones said his behavior is “really unkind to my issue and also very dangerous for him.”

Her Instagram video was posted in a drab, dark room. She quipped, “So what I didn’t do today, was record this video inside a prison. Because I’ve imagined many ways to do it, too. But I haven’t. I didn’t. Not yet.”

Jones is the mother of son Xander, 13, and she’s never publicly revealed the identity of his father, telling The New York Times in 2013, “That’s my son’s business. It’s not the public’s business.”

In 2017, she told Red Magazine that her son is surrounded by female energy.

“Maybe too much,” she joked. “Maybe I should get a manny soon. But Xander has a lot of bro time with the neighbor dads and my dad, who is super young.”

In her video on Thursday, she ended by saying that her brother in law is “otherwise” a “really nice guy.”

Jones added, “And it’s his birthday today, so happy birthday, I hope you’re eating a f–kload of chips.”
