Man, 39, stabbed to death in front of former Bronx NYPD stationhouse

A 39-year-old man was stabbed to death in front of a historic former Bronx NYPD stationhouse early Monday, police said.

The victim was knifed in the neck and chest on Bathgate Ave. near E. Tremont Ave. about 12:20 a.m., cops said.

Medics rushed the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he died about 25 minutes later, officials said. His name was not immediately released.

A knife was recovered by cops at the scene but the killer ran off and has not been caught.

The building the victim was stabbed in front of housed the NYPD’s 48th Precinct for decades but is now home to a Head Start program. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983 for its notable architecture.
