A 41-year-old man was fatally shot during a brazen Saturday morning confrontation on a quiet tree-lined Queens street, cops said.
The victim was on Liverpool St. near Glassboro Ave. in South Jamaica at about 8:15 a.m. when a gunman opened fire, striking him in the chest.
He ran several feet before collapsing on the sidewalk. EMS rushed him to Jamaica Hospital, where the victim died a short time later.
His name was not immediately disclosed.
The gunman fled the scene. Witnesses saw a BMW speeding off, a police source with knowledge of the case said.
Neighbors heard as many as six shots before the victim was found sprawled out on the concrete.
NYPD detectives were scouring the area looking for surveillance images that would help them identify the shooter.
